He was the Founding Director (1983-2000) of Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory, member of the Institute for System Research, and he is also a Member of the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, University of Maryland, College Park.

Joaquim Jorge is a Professor of Computer Science, Researcher, Author, and Distinguished Speaker. A full professor with Instituto Superior Técnico, the Engineering school of the University of Lisboa, he coordinates the Graphics and Interaction research group at INESC-ID, a computer research institute affiliated with the University.

Prof. Petrie is Professor Emerita of HCI in the Department of Computer Science, University of York, having over 20 years of internationally-recognized research on technologies for people with disabilities and elderly people, aiming to improve their quality of life and well-being. She has been involved in over 30 British and international projects.

INDIA HCI 2021

India HCI 2021 (Online Conference) is organized by the HCI Professionals Association of India in collaboration with MIT Institute of Design, MIT Art, Design & Technology University to foster collaboration between Industry, Academia, Professional & Students from the HCI & Design communities of India & around the world.

The theme of the conference is 'Design for Disruption.' We live in uncertain times, and designing products & services for an unpredictable future is a key challenge we all face in the HCI community. The conference is a platform to discuss & debate ideas that will help us create a better world and be prepared for such unforeseen disruptions.
