Recognizing outstanding work in Human-Computer Interaction design from Indian classrooms.

Student Design Project

Entries are open for students from a recognized academic institution in India and must fulfil all the following criteria:

• Must be a part of the academic assignment submitted as a part of the curriculum under a supervisor or advisor in the last two years. 
• Should demonstrate a clear focus on user experience and human-centered design.
• Should show innovative design solutions and potential impact.

Awards

• Prize money of ₹50,000 will be awarded to the winner. Second and third prize winners will receive ₹30,000 and ₹20,000 respectively. 
• All the winners will be awarded with trophy and certificates of recognition.
• Winners will be showcased on HCIPAI website
• Finalists will receive certificates of recognition.

Application Process

• Applicants submit a detailed project report via the Google form link. 
• Entries will be checked for completeness and criteria fulfilment. Entries without supervisor or HOD letter will be disqualified. 
• Applicants with valid entries will be asked to make presentations to the jury. This stage of presentations will be done online.
• Finalists will be invited in person to the HCIPAI Awards event to for final presentations in December 2026. Venue will for this event will be communicated once finalised.

Timeline

• Submission Deadline: 15th Nov 2026
• Finalist presentations and Awards Ceremony: Dec 2026 (Venue and date to be finalized)

Declarations and Supporting Documents

Applicants are required to submit:

• Project report and date of completion of the project.
• A letter from the supervisor or HOD validating that the entry is a part of the participants original academic project.
• Declaration of any potential conflicts of interest.

Application Fees

For each entry, following fees are applicable. The fees listed below are exclusive of GST. Applicable GST will be charged additionally at the time of payment.

Fees must be paid through the IndiaHCI payment portal.

Eligibility

Open to professionals working in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) in India.

Submission Guidelines

• All submissions must be original work of the participants.
• Submissions must be made through the HCIPAI Awards submission link.
• Each participant can submit any number of entries per category.

Evaluation Criteria

• Submissions will be evaluated based on innovation, impact, and relevance to the field of HCI.
• The evaluation will be conducted by a panel of jury appointed by HCIPAI.
• The decision of the judges is final and binding.

Intellectual Property

• Participants retain ownership of their submissions.

Indemnity

• Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless HCIPAI from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or in connection with their participation in the awards.

Privacy and Data Protection

• Personal data collected during the submission process will be used solely for the purpose of administering the awards.
• HCIPAI will not share personal data with third parties.

General Conditions

• HCIPAI reserves the right to modify or cancel the awards at any time. Any application fees paid by the applicants will be duly returned to them in such an unlikely scenario. 
• Participants agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by HCIPAI.
