Institutional Membership

100,000

We invite educational institutes, including design schools and computer science departments in universities to become institutional members of HCIPAI.

Benefits:

  • Member discount for India HCI conferences and other HCIPAI events. **
  • Invitation to attend HCIPAI life members and India HCI chairs dinner. **
  • Listing on HCIPAI institutional members page with social media links (e.g. Linkedin, Facebook, institutional website etc.).
  • First opportunity to start and oversee current and upcoming HCIPAI community activities such as conferences, symposiums, local chapters, etc.

** Up to 4 members in the organisation in addition to the life members, if any, will get these benefits.

How does it work?

An institutional membership of HCIPAI is for 10 years at a time, after which it needs to be renewed. An organisation may become an institutional member in two ways. The organisation may pay institutional membership dues (currently ₹ 100,000 plus GST). Alternatively, the organisation in which 5 people are life members of HCIPAI (including faculty members, adjunct / visiting faculty members and other employees) may claim a free institutional membership for 10 years.

  • A life member of HCIPAI may thus “use up” their affiliation to claim institutional membership only once. If a life member is associated with two organisations (e.g. a full-time faculty member in one organisation and an adjunct or a visiting faculty in another), only one of these organisations will be able to claim institutional membership based on their life membership. Similarly, after using their life membership to claim institutional membership for their first organisation, if the life member changes their organisation, they will not be able to use their life membership to claim institutional membership for a second organisation.
  • Once the institutional membership term of an organisation expires, they will need to pay the prevalent institutional membership charges to renew their membership, unless by that time they have five new employees who are life members of HCIPAI who have not used their life membership to claim institutional membership yet.
  • The choice will be made by the concerned life member (i.e. not by either organisation) at the time the first organisation claims institutional membership.

To become an institutional member, please write to memberships@indiahci.org.

*Membership fees are excluding GST. Additional taxes may apply.
