Travel and Visas

Delegates coming from outside India will need a visa to enter India. There should be an Indian consulate near you. Search india.visahq.com for more details.

If you need an invitation letter from the conference for getting a visa, first register for the conference and then send a request for a visa letter to register@indiahci.in.

Accommodation

This conference does not arrange for your accommodation, but we are here to help you find a good place to stay. Mumbai is the commercial capital of India, so a place to stay can be somewhat expensive, though you can often find a lot of variety. Here we will try to get some choices that suit everyone's budget, but we will also try to point to other options.

Here are some options (sorted on the cheapest costs). To book a room in any of the following, register for the conference and then send an email to our student volunteers at acco@indiahci.in. Mention your Registration ID to help us track you. Let us know if you prefer to share a room with someone to divide costs - volunteers can help you find a room partner.

Hostel accommodation in IIT Bombay (map)

  • Rates: Rs. 155-230 per day for the room. Breakfast + dinner should cost another Rs. 100 per day.
  • This is in student hostels for registered student volunteers only (more on this option soon)

SAMEER Guest House (map)

  • Rates: Single room Rs. 300 per day, Double room Rs. 500 per day. Breakfast, dinner etc. extra.
  • Pros: It is right on the campus, you can walk to your room after a hectic day at the conference and give the traffic a complete miss.
  • Cons: There are few rooms availbale - book soon. These are full now. Try other options.

MTNL Guest House (map)

  • Rates: Single non-AC Rs. 1,700, Shared non-AC Rs. 1,300, Single AC Rs. 2,600, Shared AC Rs. 1,800
  • Pros: It is about 2 km from the campus, (20 minutes walk, 10-20 minutes by taxi from the conference depending on traffic). Includes breakfast.
  • Cons: They do not accept payments directly from guests - the conference will have to book the room for you. To book, you will need to pay the conference the amount in advance (before Feb. 5). Email acco@indiahci.in for more on this option.

Bamboo House Apartments (Sher-e-Punjab, Andheri) (map)

  • Rates: Rs 1600 double accommodation (Rs. 800 if shared - volunteers can help you find a room partner).
  • Pros: It is a homely serviced apartment with a kitchenette / breakfast.
  • Cons: A bit far from the campus (20-40 min depending on traffic).

Hotel Galaxy Residency (Sakinaka) (map)

  • Rates: Deluxe AC single Rs 1500+ 10% tax, Deluxe AC double Rs 1800+ 10% tax, Super Deluxe single Rs 1800+ 10%tax, Super Deluxe dbl Rs 2100+10% tax. Extra Pax Charge Rs 400/-. Tariff is including breakfast and airport pick-up
  • Pros: It is a value for money hotel.
  • Cons: A bit far from the campus (20-60 min depending on traffic).

Hotel Arma Galaxy (Marol) (map)

  • Rates: Deluxe AC single Rs 1800+tax, Deluxe AC double Rs 2000+tax, Super Deluxe single Rs 2000+tax, Super Deluxe dbl Rs 2400+tax. Extra Pax Charge Rs 400/-. Tariff is including breakfast and airport pick-up.
  • Pros: It is a value for money hotel.
  • Cons: A bit far from the campus (20-60 min depending on traffic).

The Residence Hotel & Convention Centre (map)

  • Rates: Standard room: Rs. 4,500 single / Rs. 5,000 double, Deluxe room: Rs. 5,000 single / Rs. 5,500 double, Apartment suite: Rs. 8,500 single / double. Rates inclusive of taxes, airport transfers on check in & check out at pre informed timings (Sharing Basis), 01 Bottle of mineral water per person per day, free usage of gymnasium, swimming pool &, games room, buffet breakfast at the restaurant “Fusion”, free internet at the business centre (subject to availability), free wi-fi facility at the lobby level, daily newspapers and periodicals in the room, tea / coffee maker in all rooms (replenished daily), special discount at massage parlor
  • Pros: It is a nice hotel near the campus (15-30 minutes by taxi from the conference depending on traffic).
  • Cons: None, if you can afford the costs.

Rodas (map)

  • Rates: Single Deluxe: Rs.12,000/- Rs. 5,000/-Room + Buffet Breakfast + Airport one way; Double deluxe Rs. 13,000/- Rs. 5,500/- Room + Buffet Breakfast + Airport one way; Executive Single deluxe Rs.15,000/- Rs.7,000/-
    Room + Buffet Breakfast + Airport Transfers both ways; Executive double deluxe Rs.16000/- Rs. 8,000/- Room + Buffet Breakfast + Airport Transfers both ways (Sales tax on food and beverage will be applicable as per the Government regulations. 10% State Govt.Tax on room charges. 12.5% Vat on the meal component. Any increase in Govt. levies will be extra. All rates are subject to change with out notice. Check - in & Check - out time is 12 noon.)
  • Pros: It is a nice hotel very near the campus (10-20 minutes by taxi from the conference depending on traffic). Great food as well.
  • Cons: None, if you can afford the costs.

Ramada Powai (map)

  • Rates: Standard room: Rs. 6,000 single / Rs. 6,500 double. Deluxe room: Rs. 7,000 single / Rs. 7,500 double. Suite: Rs. 12,000 single / double. Rates all inclusive of buffet breakfast in the Coffee Shop – Café Ambrosia, transfers to the airports on prior intimation only, complimentary packaged drinking water (2 nos. replenished daily), tea/coffee maker and newspaper in the room, usage of swimming pool & health spa, recreation room & gymnasium (subject to change without prior notice)
  • Pros: It is a nice hotel near the campus (15-30 minutes by taxi from the conference depending on traffic).
  • Cons: None, if you can afford the costs.
