FAQs

We will update this page soon, but here have been the questions that have been asked frequently so far:

Is it one conference or two conferences?
This event has two co-located conferences: India HCI and Interaction Design for International Development. India HCI is a national conference with participation and support from several educational institutions, research institutions and industry partners in India. Our hope also is that this conference will become an annual event and will go to different places in India and could be organised by completely different groups each year. Interaction Design for International Development is a conference organised by a TC13 SIG with the same name. Plus there is a meeting of IFIP TC13 happening as well.

Will submissions be reviewed separately?
Full and short papers and design case studies will be blind peer reviewed. For the two conferences there are two groups of peer-reviewers co-chaired by different experts in each area (but the review committee has some overlaps). Take a look at our people page to see the current reviewers and co-chairs. Peer-reviewers self-select what they would like to review, but given their interests, they are likely to select the most appropriate group. Of course, there will be (is bound to be) overlap between the two conferences, and these overlapping submissions will be reviewed by both groups. However, there will be a common programme and common proceedings. Other activities (industry presentations, student design projects, workshops and tutorials) will be reviewed by a common group of co-chairs.
